Low Signal Strength on Kindle in South Africa 2 Years ago Karma: 0
Had a snag where the Kindle worked at my offices in Rosebank and I could go online, but could not get this to work from home. Quiet irritating as I like to read in bed and look for interesting artciles/magazines.

Sometimes it would also no connect at the office either which was stressing me out.

I phoned Amazon.com and got excellent service. The trick is to go to:
Home ->Settings
then on the keyboard press 311 and it will open a prompt to search for carrier networks.

Give it about 30 seconds and a list of networks will be shown. Move the tick to be next to Vodacom 3G.

My kindle was roaming on CellC 2G network. I switched it to Vodacom 3G and it works great. It shows 3G on the screen and is sitting at 100% signal.

Quite a relief since i thought the device was faulty
